You came to our rescue!
The nation has been on lockdown for four months. During all this time our kids could rely on YOU to keep them going.
We asked: “Will we be able to care for our beneficiaries? Will we survive the next few months?”
YOU said: “Never fear!”
YOU kept our services running and helped us to do a lot more for the communities we serve. All our efforts were made possible by YOU, the donor. Families in dire need have received emergency food parcels that helped to sustain them during the lockdown. The basic needs of the kids you support have been met throughout this time and thanks to donations towards data and airtime, our beneficiaries were able to keep up to date with their school work.
Many of our beneficiaries are back to school and like many parents and families, we were fearful and worried about their safety in school settings. But it seems our children, although fearful at first, have adapted to their new normal.
A number of schools that our beneficiaries attend have reported cases of Covid19 and have asked pupils to stay home until further notice. On the home front, we are taking extra precautionary measures to make sure that our staff and children are safe. Sanitisers, cleaning material, toiletries and updated information is made available to all staff and beneficiaries.
With the reopening of schools we have to do a lot of things differently and our everyday costs are rising.
House parents and/or drivers in residential care have to make multiple trips to different schools as schools stagger the coming and going of learners.
All vehicles have to be sanitised each time a child is picked up from school. All school uniforms are washed and school shoes, bags and all other school accessories are sanitised as soon as a child gets home. Then the kids take a shower. This is a costly routine but one which has to be undertaken to ensure the safety of children and staff.
Your support for our children has kept us going and for that we are truly grateful.
We are so much more dependent upon your kind monetary donations at this time. You can donate towards the love and care of our children and fuel costs here
