Donate R120 towards our electricity bill. Increased electricity tariffs and continuous load-shedding make it more difficult to provide a warm home for our beneficiaries. We pay, on average, around R140 000 per month to ensure that our beneficiaries receive a warm cooked meal, washed and ironed clothes and are able to take a warm bath or shower. Donating R 120 towards rechargeable light bulbs will help us to buy 2 rechargeable light bulbs per house. This will enable our beneficiaries to do their homework and complete their evening routine when load-shedding kicks in.  DONATE

Donate R120 towards a warm bowl of porridge

Beneficiaries in AKB’s Soweto and Westbury programs need soft, warm porridge – especially in these cold months.  The 530 beneficiaries in these programs receive one, freshly cooked meal, and served with bread for the evening meal, per day.

Their nutrient-deficient diet impacts negatively on their functioning and development. We have seen an enormous change in beneficiaries who regularly enjoy a bowl of Morvite/soft porridge.
The budget is very tight and does not allow us to provide Morvite/soft porridge for 530 beneficiaries, 7 days per week. R120 can buy 4 Kg of Morvite which can make 32 bowls of porridge.
Take 6 or 7 minutes to SIGN UP for a debit order and ensure that these beneficiaries continue to receive a bowl of soft porridge long after the cold months subsides.
